Broncos, Raiders will not re-sign former Raiders wide receiver Devin Funchess

Devin Funkess is retiring after five seasons with the Oakland Raiders, a source told ESPN.

Funchest, 31, was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Indiana in 2014 after his college career with Ohio State, where he caught 70 passes for 1,826 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Funkest, who has yet to play for the Raiders, had 11 receptions for 144 yards and a touchdown in 2015.

The Raiders announced Friday they will not be renewing his contract.

Funkelss, who turns 36 in October, is the seventh receiver to leave the Raiders this offseason.

He has six catches for 59 yards in eight games for Oakland.

The Broncos have not signed a free agent wide receiver this offseason, and the team is still searching for its long-term future at wide receiver.

Denver is also working on a trade for wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who is out of the league after signing with the Houston Texans.
