What is a Capitol Building?

Today’s capitol buildings are also the home of the White House Historical Society, the Presidential Inaugural Committee, and many other public and private organizations.

The U. S. National Archives has more than 200,000 pages of records about the U Capitol, which include documents about the design of the structure and how the building was built.

The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) also maintains a collection of historic photographs of the Capitol.
